Brooklyn Snow Days
The ruthless, snowy days of winter are finally subsiding in New York! No more sliding through slush puddles or slipping across black ice on the side walk. No more tracking giant salt rocks into the apartment along with mud and ice. The mop will finally get a break, and the collective exhale of New Yorkers can be heard all across my neighborhood.
There is something to be said, however, for being home in a cozy apartment on a snow day, watching it fall as you listen to some smooooth Bossa Nova and arrange flowers in each window to brighten things up. I fell in love with the stillness of my apartment as I worked from home the other day, and took these photos to capture the moment.
There is something special about winter that I always miss around mid-summer, when the feeling of frosty air and crunching of snow underfoot feels like a far away dream.
But right now? I am reeeeally looking forward to spring.
Here’s to the changing of seasons, and the last of winter. And here’s hoping I don’t jinx winter’s end with this blog post. The internet would never forgive me!
