Photo Diary: Warmer Days ☼

March 22, 2014

As spring ever so slowly inching towards us, I find myself reminiscing with photos from the end of last summer. It was just starting to get chilly in the evenings, and I remember the bitter sweet feeling of letting summer go as we returned from Peru, partied with our friend’s band at the beach, danced all night to crazy electro-cumbia DJs, and wore the heck out of straw hats while it was still seasonally acceptable.

I love seeing these photos now, because it makes me appreciate these weeks before the warm weather arrives. Transitional seasons are so full of hope and expectation. Who knows what this spring and summer will bring!

Seeing the Electric People play at Rockaway Beach on the final night of Rippers boardwalk bar. Sarah plays tambourine and sings like a rock’n’roll goddess.

Lemon water water in the mornings and lemon elixirs became a daily practice in the summer, and we’ve carried it on since then. It just so happens that lemons are extremely photogenic. ;}

Peruvian electro-cumbia DJs Dengue! Dengue! Dengue! came to S.O.B.s right after we got back from Peru, which was amazing, since we missed them while we were there. They’re responsible for some of the most amazing psychedelic electro happening right now. I used Simiolo for my runway show in October.

Strolling Bedford Avenue in the evenings for fall fashion was, of course, a daily ritual—but I made sure to get the most out of my favorite little summer dresses before the cold air swooped in.

To the impending warm weather, and good memories we’re going to make!

Happy ALMOST-SPRING!
