Hey Mishka Loves… ♥ Link Round-Up
Welcome to Hey Mishka Loves…—the new weekly link round-up that showcases stylish, festive, inspiring content from all around e-town. Stop by on Tuesdays to get your dose. This week I’m sharing Romanian folk art through the Puma lens, an impending Peruvian fashion extravaganza, Simon Doonan‘s inspiring back-story, and plenty mo’.
Loving the wild campaign and design of Lana Dumitru’s 2nd place submission for the PUMA T7 jacket design competition (held in 2011, with winners’ products emerging now). She translated traditional Romanian folk art into a super-modern, technicolor design that turned out to be even more sought-after than 1st place.
Sugar Pills is a Polish brand with an edge that relies heavily on vulgar teenage waste themes. They’re producing those photoshoped sweatshirts you’ve been seeing on Tumblr for years with psychedelic cats and barbie heads on them.
I’m waiting with baited breath for VOGUE Paris 2013 to hit stands here in NYC. It features Mario Testino‘s personal tour of Peru and, as you can imagine, lots of color, texture, and incredible landscapes. Doubly excited that Kate Moss will be featured in the issue.
See Jenna Lyons’ shoe collection and weep with jealousy. Her style continues to reign supreme.
Adoring this piece on Simon Doonan‘s story and a profile of him as a leading creative force in the industry. He began as a factory worker and bathroom renovator with a good sense of humor, and look at the man now!
Check out my post on Denim Therapy with styling inspiration for the new Free People ombre denim shirt, ranging from casual & comfortable to leather-and-sharp-edges.
Step into a total bohemian wonderland and visit the studio of Figue with Stephanie von Watzdorf. Moroccan, Indian, and Poiret-worthy products will sweep you right off your feet.
DIY your own steel toe boots with some paint and tape! Not sure these would hold up for more than a carefully plotted blog photo shoot, but it opens up a whole world of possibilities for adding “metallic” accents to your accessories, ya?
Late Afternoon always gets it right. Love the mix of her clean, chic shoes and bag with her otherwise eccentric ripped jeans and loose knit top. Effortless! And the perfect outfit to browse flea markets for treasures.
That’s it for this week’s link haul. I hope you find some of these inspiring and/or useful! I’m off to the Black Orchid SS13 press preview… see you on social-media-webs.
