Hawaii express

July 10, 2011

A curated selection of whimsical kitchen & home decor items from a vintage shop in Hawaii came in yesterday. They made the long journey to my mint green kitchen in Greenpoint in a big box full of pastel packing peanuts. I am in love with each and every one of them!

Oh man! Me and my brother caught Roller Boogie on late night tv a few years ago. Within the first two minutes of the opening short-shorts rollerskate montage, we predicted that our leading man would fall for a rich girl who’s parents wanted her to be in ice skater but she just wants to skate and this would somehow lead to a final skate battle with the evil roller boogie team. Replace ice skater with flutist and we were fairly accurate in our assessment :P

Oh late night movies, you are always the best.

No, you’re dead on! She even said during one ridiculous dialogue that her parents had her in figure skating when she was six or seven, and she won medals! And then she stood up with her skates on and fell on her ass. ;D
