Nasty Mondays & Charlotte Ronson
A shot of me looking really pissed off (it was the flash!) from Nasty Mondays the other night, in my embroidered elephant vest over ’80s polyester dress + Russian trapper hat. Thanks Nicky (see the rest of the party here).
On with NYFW-related business…!
I had gone to Charlotte Ronson hoping for lots of sexy denim for my eyes to devour, and while my wish was less than granted I appreciated the bright yellow knits, strategically holey tights, and general ’90s grunge-chic that materialized on the runway. I had a (rare) front row seat and could really see the detail in the motifs and textures.
The unstoppable, beautiful, badass pink icing-haired dream that is Charlotte Free. ♥ Easily my favorite break through model of the season.
The scene around Lincoln center… there were a lot of blogger “prototypes” hanging out like it was a comic book convention or something, waiting to be photographed. But! Everyone looked adorable it was obviously fun to walk around and (yes!) photograph them.
I try not to criticize people who are exhibiting their own brand of creativity—as well as a bit of healthy vanity. I’d rather associate with people who think they’re hot stuff. They’re usually more fun.
Ah, Lincoln Center. The center of it all.
I just added the following contributions to my R29 contribution archives. Check out the articles I wrote during NYFW (yep, I’ve been busy):
